Always & Forever (and New)

Well, Happy New Year!  I am ready to get this one underway with a fresh start and my "newly" found "One Little Word"--NEW.  I've never really followed that concept (I'm not that deep of a thinker), but at the urging of others, was persuaded to give it a go and see just how my "one little word" would play throughout the course of the coming year.  So there it is--NEW--it kind of picked me, actually, but that's a whole other story.  I have a lot of "new" things going on in my life, so it seems to fit.  We shall see.  Do YOU pick a "one little word" for yourself every year?  Now that I have my word, what do I do with it?

Anyway, that's about as deep into thought as I plan to get today, so what say I show y'all a "new" card from me!  I am in love with navy and white, and also needed a card to put into a letter of love for our daughter, Lindsie to read on a future insightful retreat she will be attending in March.

I love the elegant look of the navy base against the stark white of the LEAVES COVER PANEL Confetti Cuts die.  The ampersand was a "reject" I had saved from the DOCUMENTED Confetti Cuts set that I cut from gold cardstock from my stash quite some time ago (I love anything cut from gold cardstock!).  To bear contrast, my cluster needed the greenery from the LEAFY Confetti Cuts cut from my favorite lime green cardstock.  I stamped the quick sentiment from the LOTS TO SAY stamp set, added it along with my little "cluster" of embellishments, a swarovski crystal (because Lindsie always shines) and it was complete.

As I investigate, ponder and reflect on my OLW, I hope your year leads you onto NEW paths of success and craftiness!  Thanks for reading today!

  1. Another great card! I've always loved the 'Lots to Say' set and the use of the green leaves sets this card off.

I have never bought into having a 'word' for the year but this year it just sort of fell into my lap. My word is 'joy,' and I think the thing is to think about your word occasionally and how to create more of whatever the word is in your life. Will be a challenge for sure!

  2. very pretty! love the pop of green and gold
