Thanks, April!

Well, have y'all been following the whole dramatic "live" pregnancy of April the giraffe?  There is a giraffe that lives at The Animal Adventure Park somewhere in New York that is pregnant.  The park has set up a "live feed" camera in her pen, and sharing it with the world, so that anyone who wants to can look in on her and her mate, Oliver, and hopefully catch the live birth.  The calf is expected to come any time now, and should be about 6' tall and weigh in at 150 pounds!  I don't know about y'all, but with all the negativity running around on social media and the internet these days, this is such a sweet experience to follow along with!

So when I was making one of my cards for my latest 'Fetti Fans workshop at The Little Blue House, I decided to create this one using the LIFT ME UP stamp set and LIFT ME UP Confetti Cuts from Reverse Confetti as a little "shout out" to the park and April for letting us share in the baby giraffe excitement!

The main element on my card features the THANKS TAG Confetti Cuts cut from Navy Cardstock.  The Iced Aqua Cardstock piece is stamped in Navy Ink with the SO STRIPEY stamp set.  I then added the sentiment from the WHOLE LOTTA THANKS stamp set and cut it from the WHOLE LOTTA THANKS Confetti Cuts, adding it across the bottom of the tag.  I colored little April and her bird friend with watercolor pencils and popped them up onto the tag also. If you're wondering how the side of the card is done, I simply cut off a half inch of the card front, cut the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP Confetti Cuts, and attached it to the inside of the card base (card front).

Okay, that's about all from me today--I have to go check on the Momma April!  In case you want to see her or drop in on her, HERE'S a link to the website that hosts the LIVE FEED.

  2. This is a darling card, and, as usual, your layers are fabulous! What fun it is to anticipate a birth and to celebrate a good thing on social media! Thanks for sharing!
