Just Monkeyin' Around

Well, it's not very often that I just get to create something for the sake of creating something.  It's usually for a challenge or design team assignment.  Not that that isn't just as fun, but sometimes having no boundaries when deciding what or how to create something is a bit freeing and can give your creativity a boost.  (Getting to do this kind of stuff as my actual full-time job is over the moon amazing!)  So I was just "monkeyin' around when this card was born!

The only thing I knew I wanted to accomplish when I set out to create this card, was that I wanted a boyish feel to it.  Sometimes you just get something stuck in your head like that and you can't let it go, so I grabbed some papers accordingly.

When I went to check out my REVERSE CONFETTI stash, I went with this cutie stamp set called MONKEY BUSINESS.  I colored him and his balloons using some Prismacolor pencils and only a blender pencil (no OMS) because I liked the grainy look it gave.  I cut my images out with the MONKEY BUSINESS Confetti Cuts and got all my pieces ready to go which included cutting a DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER, two cuts from orange cardstock of the STITCHED FLAG TRIO, and several SEEING STARS Confetti Cuts.  For real y'all, that doodle-y star is my fave, fave, fave!!!

Anyway, once he was all complete, I really fell in love with this card and decided he would have a purpose after all--We will be making this card (along with 3 others) in my next 'Fetti Fans Workshop at The Little Blue House on September 22nd.  Call or stop by the store for more details and to sign up!  817-431-7930 Don't you want to get into a little monkey business!?!?!  LOL.
