Almost the 4th!

Well, this week has gone by super fast, and I've got LOTS of crafty stuff on my plate!  Some of which I'll get to share soon, but some will have to wait, so stay tuned!  For now, I'm excited that the Fourth of July is almost upon us.  I can't wait to head out for our annual trek to Possum Kingdom Lake to watch the fireworks show there and enjoy a relaxing family outing.  (Which reminds me, it's going to be like 100+ degrees this Saturday and I need to get some water spray/fan bottles!)  Ooh, it's going to be HOT!

Anyway, I've shared before that I LOVE creating patriotic themed stuff, so I naturally wanted to use my AMERICAN HERO stamp set from VERVE to make this card, probably my favorite Verve stamp set of all time.  I started with the latest VIVA LA VERVE sketch.

I couldn't possibly make a patriotic card without some stars, so I added just about one of each from the STARRY die set.  I added the largest one the center of a homemade pinwheel.  I tried to make the lettering sparkly on the sentiment with a clear Wink of Stella pen, but it kind of threw up in a few places and at that point there was nothing I could do about it.  Of course it was the last thing I did to this card after it was all put together.  I had to roll with it.  Boom.

Stamps:  American Hero (Verve)
Paper:  White, Red, Kraft (MME), Stars and Stripes (Echo Park)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  Starry (A Cut Above dies by Verve), Red/White Twine, Adhesive Rhinestones, Clear Wink of Stella Pen, Hot Glue, Pop Dots

  1. This is an AWESOME card. Great design, great papers, great everything. I, too, hate it when my wink of stella vomits on my stuff...What's a cardmaker to do?
