Bible Journal Entry: The Lord's Strength

Well, after a trying day today, I sat down at my desk wanting to do something creative, but didn't really have a direction as to what to do or make.  (Makers gotta make.)  A card?  Nah.  A tag?  Nah.  While I was pondering what to do, I was also thinking about how much stuff is going on this week, and started thinking about the strength (and how much coffee) I was going to need to get through it all.  Then I knew what I wanted to do...a bible journaling page that reflected that very thought (minus the coffee).  I turned to Nehemiah 8:10.

REVERSE CONFETTI has this wonderful line of uplifting stamps and believe it or not, one is called THE LORD'S STRENGTH, so the actual stamp I used from that set couldn't have been more fitting!

I did a wash in several colors on the whole page using watercolor crayons and babywipes, then stamped the sentiment.  I added and outlined the "forever" from the LOVEY WORDS Confetti Cuts die, and stamped the "and ever" from the LOVEY WORDS COORDINATES stamp set.  Because I love sticker letters so much, the "amen" had to be added and outlined.

Then I was stuck.  What to do with all that blank space?  I used a homemade circle stencil that I made from the CIRCLES 'N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts quite some time ago and sponged some white ink in the circles as a base for some flowers.  Once dry, I scribbled with my watercolor crayons a bit and then blended that with another babywipe.  Then I added a little more intense color to the flowers, but only brushed it out with a waterbrush to leave the contrast.  All that was left was to create the leaves, and add the black doodling with my Pitt pen (a permanent black fine-tip from Faber-Castell--a MUST have!), and date my page.  Don't forget to do that!  Let me know if y'all have any questions about what the heck I'm doing to a perfectly good journaling bible.  It's my kind of worship!

  1. Love it Susan! Thank you for sharing! I love how you incorporated the RC supplies too! Inspiration for me ;)
