April Viva La Verve

Well, it's been a while since I played around with a sketch from the VIVA LA VERVE Sketch blog.  After looking at it, I knew this one would be one I could easily just jump right in and do!

I actually had no particular theme or card in mind when I started with this project, so I winged it and just pulled out the first paper pad I found without looking, decided on the pieces and then started just blindly pulling out some of my VERVE stamp sets that would somewhat match up with the papers I randomly chose.  HA!  Try that for a challenge sometime!

Since the papers had these warm tones, when I pulled out the ONE CUP stamp set, it was perfect!  (Yes, I first pulled a couple of Christmas sets, an Easter set...had to keep choosing!)  All I had to do from that point was decide how I was to use the stamp set.  I decided to stamp the sentiment onto a tag I cut from the FLOURISHED TAG die set since it resembles the tea bag "paper" thingie so nicely (what is that called?).  Instead of a circle sticking out from the side like the sketch, I made a tab of sorts and stamped it and all my other yellow pieces with the teabag stamp from the set to make a patterned paper.  I chose to used the stacked cups to embellish that area of my card, so I stamped and colored them and then used the CUPPA TEA die set to cut them out.  I popped them up to make them stand out even more.

Start to finish, since I didn't do much hemming and hawing over paper, stamps and all, took only about 30 minutes to complete!  I think I should do that more often!  Don't overthink it, kids!
