Well, other than a bunch of bad luck here at Lilesland (broken car and my mom is really sick), I'm trying to keep my chin up, stay crafty and get into the holiday spirit! So when I was deciding what direction to take this month's SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY from REVERSE CONFETTI, I chose to add to my Christmas card collection for this year.
Here's a look at the sketch and a little more about my card:
This sketch had me stumped at first, because I'm so used to there being a "main focal point" more or less. However, the more I looked at it, I realized there's really several options for that focal point and I decided to capitalize on the two offset rectangles by cutting the TAG ME TOO Confetti Cuts die in half and using them for a fun backdrop for my MERRY & BRIGHT Christmas lights stamps that were also cut from the MERRY & BRIGHT Confetti Cuts. Along with my usual layer-y style, I added a few embellishments including the red flag banner from the STITCHED FLAG TRIO Confetti Cuts. The three triangles are actually the ice cream cones from the LOVE 'N ICE CREAM Confetti Cuts set. I have to say, I really love how this turned out! I might have to pull this little sketch out again sometime!
