Well, we didn't do any "extreme" Black Friday shopping, but we did pick up a few things that afternoon after the madness had subsided. Eric and I used to be among the masses at 4 a.m., but since the kids are bigger, and getting "The Toy" isn't such a thing anymore, we choose to sleep, rather than stand in line! Nothing we bought Friday afternoon was even on a huge sale, we just knew we wanted to get it for a gift and so we did a little power shopping. We are both glad to have a lot of our shopping well underway, both embracing the idea of more peace this year like I spoke of in my last post.
We finally have the tree and the house just about fully decorated (still waiting for the weather to dry out a bit before trying to hot glue our outside lights onto the brick porch!). Admiring the tree and my homey decor, I was inspired to make this little Christmas ornament using some of my VERVE stash. I had found this cute little tart pan at Bed Bath & Beyond some time ago, and thought it would be the perfect little "shadowbox". I lined the inside with paper, glitter flakes and twine, and then stamped and cut the snowflake, sentiment, and cup images from the HOLIDAY TREATS set. I didn't use the matching dies on the snowflakes (FROSTY SNOWFLAKE SET), as I wanted a closer cut than they make since my project was so small, but I did use the CUP OF CHEER die set for the cup. After I added all my elements, I just punched a couple of holes into the tin with my Cropadile and ran more twine through for the hanger.
I absolutely love how it turned out, and really didn't take all that long to make. These would be so cute on packages or as magnets as well! It's so sweet and sparkly on my tree right in the front!
