Love the Life You Live

Well, it's been a tough week with my dad passing away on Sunday.  Luckily, he had most of the arrangements already in place so that my sisters and I could take care of everything from down here in Texas since he's in Illinois.  It's been a huge blessing and I hope to be able to do that for our kids someday.  Thanks for everyone's kind messages of support on Facebook and beyond.  They've helped tremendously!

Today I have a card to share that I had actually put together on Saturday.  I've seen so many pineapples lately, that I just had to take out my PINEAPPLES APLENTY from REVERSE CONFETTI and put this quick little guy together!

Apparently in my world, pineapples can be blue.  I just had this brilliant blue pineapple with gold leaves pictured in my head, so I went with it (funny how blue was my dad's favorite color and I made this the day before he passed)!  I stamped and cut the pineapple and leaves out with the PINEAPPLES APLENTY Confetti Cuts, popping up an extra set of leaves for dimension.  I then made a frame using the LOVE NOTE and CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts dies.  I lined it all up, marking my card base lightly with a pencil where the opening of the frame would be before attaching the frame.  Then I stamped the sweet saying from the POSTED NOTE SENTIMENT set and finished putting the card together.  It was so quick!  I think this little layout would be fun to make several in different colors with several different sentiments.

SUSIE Q-TIP:  This card was originally an A2 size (4.25x5.5), but the proportions were off with too much yellow at the bottom.  So I fixed that by simply cutting off the bottom at 4.25, making it a square card. Suddenly, it looked better.  Not all cards can be done this way after the fact, but if something just doesn't quite look right even when you're laying it all out on an A2, try picturing it as a 4.25x4.25 little square card.  It's hip to be square.

Stamps:  Pineapples Aplenty, Posted Note Sentiments (Reverse Confetti)
Paper:  White, Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold (PTI), Ballet Blue (SU!)
Ink:  Tuxedo Memento Black, Delicata Gold (Tsukineko), Brilliant Blue (SU!)
Accessories:  Love Note, Pineapples Aplenty, Class Act Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Anchor Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, Gold Enamel Dots (Studio Calico)
Finished Size:  4.25" Square
