There are two ways to win Verve prizes: comment on the design team's blog hop posts (linked below) to see their take on the inspiration, then go get inky and link up your take on the challenge to be eligible in our prize drawings! You have the rest of the month to link up, so feel free to play as often as you like. Here's the details, please play along!

Challenge deadline: Friday, July 31.
Prize: $30 gift voucher to the Verve online store!

So let's get to it---The hop started over on Julee's blog HERE and you should have hopped all the way through to SARAH's Blog and then here.  I'm glad you made it!

Our July challenge is Sensational Stripes!

Stripes go with everything! Make them nautical, or pair with florals for a graphic look. Use stripes however you're inspired! Use the inspiration graphic or head off in your own direction, just show us your stripes!

I love using stripes!  I decided to mix mine up a bit and add a few colors (and patterns) other than the ones in the inspiration photo to make a punchy birthday card that I think could be used for a boy or a girl.  I used the ROUNDED RECTANGLE and ROUNDED SCALLOP FRAME DIES for my sentiment layers and stamped the BIRTHDAY TO YOU PLAIN JANE onto the white rectangle---it fit perfectly!  I embellished it with stars from the STARRY die and balloons from the BIRTHDAY BASH stamp set which I colored with Copic Markers.

OK, it's time to keep going on the hop, so head on over to see what MAUREEN did for your inspirational enjoyment!  I'm sure she's got something beautiful to share as always!

Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  When gluing down sequins or rhinestones (or any tiny embellishment like that), place them on your project where they are to go.  Then, rather than putting glue onto the sequin (and dropping it or fumbling with it, getting said glue all over your fingers), simply scoot the sequin away, put a dot of glue where it WAS on your project, and then place the sequin into the glue (tweezers are helpful).  As I say in my classes, the less glue you get on your fingers, the better things will stick to your card.  Think about it.

Stamps:  Birthday Bash, Birthday to You (Verve Stamps)
Paper:  White, Spring Rain, Orange Zest, Black (PTI), Starz (Bella Blvd.), Orange Stripe (Recollections from Michaels), Make a Wish Girl (EP)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories:  Rounded Rectangle, Rounded Scallop Frame, Starry Dies (A Cut Above Dies by Verve), Star Punch, Copic Markers, Sequins, Foam Boosters
