Well, it's been a super busy week, even though I'm down one kid right now. Lindsie, our 14 year old is off at camp at the University of Nebraska, learning from the best about how to be a better show choir performer. She's been gone since Sunday and will be back this coming Sunday, and absolutely loving it! (I know I'll be hearing about attending college there when she gets back!) I don't know how it happened that this week is crameverythingyoupossiblycanintoit week, but I guess it's kept my mind off missing her so bad.
The Little Blue House. It was all about trying out different mediums. We made 5 tags using REVERSE CONFETTI stamps and dies, but used watercolor paint, crayons and pencils to create backgrounds and color our images. We made the other tags pictured, plus 2 more!
We made this particular tag using the MONKEY BUSINESS stamp set and cut him and his balloons out with the MONKEY BUSINESS Confetti Cuts die. He's colored with watercolor crayons for a very "painty" look, and I even added the cheeks. Not your typical "clean" coloring that markers or pencils give, but I like the uniqueness of the crayons. I'll be dabbling more with them for sure. I created the background on the tag with a watercolor paint wash and added the clouds from the SUN 'N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts.
SUSIE Q-TIP: Use more water, less paint for washes and less water, more paint for details like grass once the background wash is completely dry.
