Happy Father's Day a Little Late

Well, we didn't really get to do much for Eric this past Sunday to celebrate Father's Day for this that and the other reasons, so we plan to have a little celebration for him on Saturday, right before we leave to go on vacation.  I made this card for him using a few of my old favorites from VERVE and I LOVE how it turned out.

We'll be vacationing with friends at a lake, so the palm trees really aren't the thing, but at least we get to enjoy some time in the water boating, tubing and relaxing on the shore.  That was my inspiration for this card, along with a fun ink blending technique I found on Pinterest.  I first stamped the palm trees from the RELAX stamp set onto kraft cardstock and cut them out.  Then I made a circle mask and blended my inks with sponges to fill in the circle.  Then I stamped the sentiment in two colors from the HAPPY DAYS set and used Glossy Accents to make the "happy" shiny.  Added the palm trees and VERVE SEQUINS (the sparkliest!), layered it up, and done!  This was super easy to make and I know Eric will appreciate getting it this Saturday, even if it is a little late!  Then we are off to relax and enjoy our getaway with the kids and some great friends!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  The next time I do a "sunset" over the beach type of card, it might be a good idea to blend the blue ink right above the brown, since that's where the water actually is.  Just sayin'.  #iwasntthinking

Ink:  Chocolate Chip and Various Colors (SU!), Memento Tuxedo Black
