May Sketch for You to Try from Reverse Confetti

Well, it's May, y'all.  MAY!!  That means we are nearing the halfway point of 2015.  It also means that school is almost out and I'll be a mom to an incoming freshman!  That totally floors me because not that long ago, Lindsie was a little 4 pound, 7 ounce infant preemie!  Anyway, before I get all teary, let's deal with the NOW--The first of the month always means it's time for a new SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY from REVERSE CONFETTI and since it's May 1st....

Here's a look at the new sketch for this month:

And here's a closer look at my take on it:

I went for a clean, bright look using some of my favorite colors.  I love how big that sentiment from the SHINE BRIGHT set is and I stamped it on the white panel cut from the DOCUMENTED Confetti Cuts set and layered a piece of navy cardstock that I also cut with that die and just trimmed it down.  I colored some of the letters in with a Prismacolor pencil.  The sun is part of the SUN 'N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts. The sun's center needed a little love, so the heart from the LOVE NOTE die set was a perfect addition.  Before adhering the main panel, I layered a little STRAIGHT STRIPES PRETTY PANEL to break up the white in the lower right corner.

SUSIE Q-TIP:  There's also a little special SPECIAL sneak peek on my card of something coming with the May release that's right around the corner on the 8th!  The little navy and aqua pieces coming down from the top are from a new Confetti Cuts die set called STITCHED FLAG TRIO, although y'all don't see the stitched part since I had to trim it down a bit.  But that's all I'm going to say about that for now.  ;)
