Birthday Wishes

Well, I haven't quite finished building my ark yet, but with all the rain we've been getting, looks like I better hurry up!  More is on its way today and throughout the weekend.  Texas is over it I think.  Sorry I've been a little remiss in posting this week.  Even with all the rain, we had our first bad contractor experience over some brick flowerbeds we tried to have installed in our front yard last week.  To the point that we had to fire the guy.  He was leaving on good terms, going to help us uninstall the crappy work, and do all our yardwork (maintenance) for the rest of the year.  Then he went to lunch.  He came back with an attitude, changed his tune and we almost had to call the police to make  him leave.  Anyway, we've kept our chin up through it all, and are slowly but surely chipping away (literally) at the shoddy brickwork ourselves to get it removed.  Meanwhile, our yard that was in perfect condition is totally ruined and full of tiny pieces of brick, mortar and mortar mix that has now hardened in places in our yard.  Another reason I'm ready for the rain to end so that we can get our yard to looking nice again!

Anyway, the only thing that kept me sane was being able to escape to my craft room and just MAKE!  Today I am sharing a card that is one of the ones we made in my 'Fetti Fans Workshop this past Tuesday at The Little Blue House.

I loved how Jen used the FOLDED TAG Confetti Cuts die as an element on the front of the TAGGED TOTE in her post HERE.  So I "borrowed" that idea from her and also used the new CIRCLE SENTIMENTS and SCALLOPED CIRCLE Confetti Cuts to create this interactive birthday card.  The little tag opening could hold a special message, money or a gift card.  I added a red "tail" on my sentiment from the new STITCHED FLAG TRIO, and also emulated her tote using the OFFICE EDGES Confetti Cuts for the notebook edged side and STAR GARLAND for embellishing.

SUSIE Q-TIP:  Boy cards can have bling on them too!  Here I used silver sequins. Also putting a "fold-out" piece onto the front of a card, makes it interactive and more fun.  Just be careful where you place adhesive so that it remains "interactive" or you might create a sticky situation.

Stamps:  Circle Sentiments (Reverse Confetti)
Paper: White, Red, Mustard Cardstock (AC), Birthday Boy (Echo Park)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Navy (Heidi Swapp)
Accessories:  Star Garland, Stitched Flag Trio, Folded Tag, Scalloped Circle, Oh My Stars, and Office Edges Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Hemp Twine, Silver Sequins, Embossing Folder, Foam Boosters
Finished Size: A2
