April Verve Diva Inspirations Hop

PSST...I have TWO posts today!  Click HERE for my Sneak Peek for Reverse Confetti.

Well, HAPPY EASTER!!  This year is sure flying by quick!  Doesn't it seem like we just had a VERVE  Inspirations hop?!  But here we are, already to April and it's time for another one.  I heard a lot of lawnmowers out yesterday, so that must mean the spring is finally here, so I was ready to get my "spring" on with some sweet colors!  It's the 5th of the month and time for the Verve Divas to bring you our monthly Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop! There are two ways to win Verve prizes: comment on the design team's blog hop posts (linked below) to see their take on the inspiration, then go get inky and link up your take on the challenge to be eligible in our prize drawings!

The hop started over on Julee's blog HERE and you should have hopped all the way through to SARAH's Blog and then here.  I'm glad you made it!

Our April challenge is Bunnies & Babies
Spring is a time of birth and renewal - celebrate the season by creating a card for Easter or a bouncing new baby. Use the inspiration graphic as a starting point, or head off in your own direction - just show us your sprightly spring creations!

Well, I loved the colors of the inspiration picture, and I wanted to combine it with the latest VIVA LA VERVE sketch HERE, so this is what I came up with...not very "baby-ish" but could be used as a baby card, or for me, something simply to remind me of what I think about on Easter.

I thought the sentiment from the WONDERFULLY MADE stamp set, stamped in the center of the ROUNDED SCALLOP FRAME was perfect for Easter, and I couldn't wait to pair it with the cross from the EACH DAY set, stamped onto that woodgrain paper, like and "old, rugged cross".  I placed the cross in the bottom corner instead of a flower, but still die cut the SPRIGHTLY SPRIGS and layered them underneath along with some rolled up hemp twine.  I followed the sketch exactly and used the FLOURISHED TRIM die across the top, but doubled it with two different colors.

OK, it's time to keep going on the hop, so head on over to see what MAUREEN did for your inspirational enjoyment!  I'm sure she's got something beautiful to share as always!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  Sometimes it's best to "not" think outside the box when creating and following a sketch--it's great as is.  I didn't add a lot of bells and whistles on this one...just changed the flower to the cross "cluster" to make it work better with my sentiment.

  30. I think it's a beautiful card!!! This card can be given to someone who has experienced a miracle in their life & just to let them know that you are celebrating it with them. I like the background paper you chose!!! The bright colors you chose all integrate with the background paper. But the absolute greatest thing about the entire card is the cross and the sentiment!!!
