March Verve Diva Inspiration Hop

PSST...I have TWO posts today!  Click HERE for my Sneak Peek for Reverse Confetti.

Well, it's the 5th of the month and time for the Verve Divas to bring you our monthly Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop! There are two ways to win Verve prizes: comment on the design team's blog hop posts (linked below) to see their take on the inspiration, then go get inky and link up your take on the challenge to be eligible in our prize drawings!

The hop started over on Julee's blog HERE and you should have hopped all the way through to SARAH's Blog and then here.  I'm glad you made it!

Our March challenge is B is for Birthday...

Don't be caught short (like me) - make a fabulous birthday card to keep in your stash or give away! Use the inspiration graphic as a starting point, or head off in your own direction - just show us your birthday creations!

Well, I had good intentions of following along with the inspiration picture and I certainly needed birthday cards, but when it came right down to it, I was more inspired to make some tags, as I am always needing them even more to attach to gifts when the girls go to parties and a thank you tag for another friend of mine.

So what started off as all the soft pretty colors from the picture for my tags, as I was making them, they morphed into these bold vibrant colors that I thought went better with the heavy inking on the tags themselves.

I used some of my favorite Verve-a-licious stamp sets and dies.  The flowers and sentiments are from the MAKING A STATEMENT stamp set and I cut the flowers out using the LOOPY BLOOMS dies.  The leaves are the LEAFY SPRIGS dies (I LOVE THESE!) and the heart behind all that is from the JOTTED HEART die that I use so often!  Also, that gorgeous seam binding ribbon is found right HERE in the embellishment section of the website in all those beautiful colors!

It's time to keep going on the hop, so head on over to see what MARISA did for your inspirational enjoyment.  She's a fabulous artist, and does amazing things with VERVE!

SUSIE Q=TIP:  As y'all can see, I didn't add "ties" to my tags, just in case I wanted to use them on cards.  I can always attach a string if necessary.  But, because I hot glue my bows and buttons, I needed to have a backing on the hole at the top of my tag for the glue to adhere to.  I simply used a small circle punch and glued it on the back to cover the hole, giving my hot glue a soft place to land.
