Eat More Cupcakes

Well, I went to the doctor today for my (annual) physical (TMI?-sorry, but maybe it will remind y'all to get one too!), and everything's status quo, other than the usual "drink more water, more color on your plate, less white food, and get in 30 minutes of exercise daily".  All things I already know I need to do, and I'm going to truly make a go of it.  No major diet plan, just better choices.  But my birthday is Friday and I plan to live it up on that day and into Superbowl weekend and then do better next week.  Chicken and broccoli, chicken and broccoli.

So when I sat down to play today, I had all that on my mind and came across this adorable stamp set from VERVE called simply CUPCAKES and just had to use it!  I started with a recent Deconstructed Sketch-- #184 and chose some bold papers that I love.

Deconstructed Sketch 184
The aqua banner piece was cut from the BANNER BUNDLE dies from Verve, and I layered up the two MINI CLASSY LABELS for my sentiment panel and stuck the "cupcake" part on as a separate piece.  The border on the bottom is from the SCALLOP TRIM TRIO set and I couldn't resist using some of my new Verve Ribbon from the POLKADOT BASICS collection.  So I can't say that if a cupcake crosses my path, I won't partake; life is too short to deprive yourself of them completely, right?

SUSIE Q-TIP:  Doilies aren't dead.  Have you seen the cute and colorful and even printed ones from Doodlebug Designs?  So stinkin' cute, 75 to a package, and no calories!

Stamps:  Cupcakes (Verve)
Paper:  White, Dark Gray, Black (Bazzill), Raspberry Fizz (PTI), Home Made (Jen Hadfield/AC)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Aqua (Avery Elle), Pink Passion (SU!)
Accessories:  Banner Bundle, Mini Classy Labels, Scallop Trim Trio (A Cut Above Dies by Verve), Paper Doily, Fine-tip Black Pen, Polkadot Basics Ribbon (Verve), Stardust Stickles, Flatback Pearls, Button, Pink Hemp Twine, Hot Glue, Foam Boosters
Finished Size:  A2

  1. Just adorable. Love that huge houndstooth background!

  2. Susan Liles, you are a master at layering and coordinating dsp and diecuts! Great card and layout.
