Well, I'm back today with a simple card design (simple for me anyway--I'm usually a more is more girl!) using another new die set from TOP DOG DIES!
I made this card using one of their newest die sets, FALL FOLIAGE. I had another project in mind when I started cutting several of these leaves (maybe I'll do it for a later post), and then when I started messing with them, this 3D sort of leaf took shape instead! I had cut 5 of them out, and with the little detail scoring for the veins from the die itself, it was super easy to simply fold them down the center and glue them at each fold.
Once they were nice and dry, I "trained" them to fan out for the dimension. The oak leaf is also from the FALL FOLIAGE set (as is an acorn), and I just cut one out and added it to my little cluster. Then I stamped a sweet sentiment from REVERSE CONFETTI using one of the newest stamp sets. This is the first card in a long long long time that I've made without using a single pop dot!
SUSIE Q-TIP: I love those trendy enamel dots. They are adhesive little plastic shiny domes that are a sweet touch to a card or project. Often, they are placed "randomly" in a threesome to carry the eye toward or away from the focal point of your card. I wanted my leaves to remain front and center this time, so I just stuck one on top of my hemp twine tied button fro color and shine. Just another way to use them.
