September Verve Diva Inspiration Hop

PSST...I have TWO posts today!  Click HERE for my Sneak Peek for Reverse Confetti.

Welcome to Verve's September Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Divas to serve up some fresh inspiration with their Verve stamps! Leave some comment love along the hop spots for a chance to win a prize, then grab some stamps and play along with our September inspiration challenge for another chance to win!

This month's challenge is entitled Sweet September:
Sugar-high! Get sugary sweet with pastels, cupcakes or candy. Create a calorie free confection to delight the senses! Feel free to use the graphic as inspiration or not.  As you can see, I missed the boat on the Inspiration--I saw a squirrel and went a different direction.  I DID use the new VIVA LA VERVE sketch just posted today right HERE!  Do I at least get brownie points for that?

I love that the sketch allowed for a fairly simple design, so that's what I was going for.  However, with me, I'm usually a "more is more" girl and I just kept adding a little here and there.  I started out stamping and paper piecing the umbrella from the RAIN OR SHINE set, and then stamped the sentiment inside the LOVELY MARQUEE die.  I stamped the coordinating frame using the stamp from the LOVE STORY stamp set--one of my faves!  I also stamped the little raindrops on the blue flag from the BANNER BUNDLE...fun!

Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  Another confession--The green accents were an afterthought.  Luckily, there was a bit of room to squeeze the green strip along the bottom of the sentiment panel (Be sure and use a tape runner instead of liquid glue when performing delicate surgery like this.  If you mess up, there's no glue-y mess.)  The button is an oldie from way back that I just glue-dotted on there and added a rhinestone to.  Ok, and I'll be taking the walk of shame here, as I put the brads in at the very last and have "brad legs" showing on the inside of my card.  Probably the only one in my stash that I've scorned that way.  So sorry little card, but the added green just makes you more special.

  26. I like brownies! So I'll give you those extra points. : ) Your card is so bright and happy!! I think the green accents were the perfect finishing touch--even if you did have to squeeze them in. If the brad "legs" bother you too much, you could always put a bit of matching paper on the inside to cover them. Speaking from experience here as I don't always plan everything out very well.
