Well, I was so pleased with my last Mojo Monday sketch card, that I decided to take a look at the sketch for this week and see about playing along. It was a go, and since Eric's birthday is coming up on the 24th, I made it for him and will give it to him then. Here's a look at the sketch:
I started this card at a "playdate" with my fellow designers and educators up at The Little Blue House in Keller (waving!), since it was a more simplistic sketch and I didn't need a lot of supplies to complete it. (I don't like to bring my entire craft room when working away from home!) So I had just grabbed a couple of older stamp sets from VERVE that hadn't had much "play time" lately. I stamped the stitched circle from the HAPPY HELLO set and stamped the sentiment, stars on the banner and the chevron stripe across the bottom using the BORDERLINE set. Both of these were perfect for my smaller "canvas". I did a little cluster of things along with the sentiment over the banners which includes a cutout from my Simple Stories paper. Under all that you can barely see it---I used the PENNANT TRIM die for a black tone-on-tone detail across the bottom of the black cardstock, and also added some black rhinestones to the upper left corner. Happy Birthday Eric!
SUSIE Q-TIP: So Eric's birthday isn't until the 24th, hence the on purpose use of the patterned paper with the number 24 on it. I'm a sucker for number paper--any kind of patterns with numbers on it. I like to add them as a little personal nod to a special day for my card recipient or to highlight any day. Use something with a 31 on it for Halloween, a 25 on it for Christmas, etc. I know for this card, Eric will definitely notice the detail. :)
