May Verve Diva Inspiration Hop

PSST...I have TWO posts today!  Click HERE for my Sneak Peek for Reverse Confetti.

Well, welcome to Verve's May Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's hopping time! This month we've got a fabulous challenge that's sure to take you on a sentimental journey! So in addition to a comment prize hidden along the hop, you can play along with the challenge and link up your creation for a chance to win another prize!

Our May Challenge is Font Focus:

Fancy fonts are all the rage! Let your inner wordsmith shine and make a gorgeous sentiment (or two or three!) the focus of your card. Whether you draw inspiration from the graphic or take some poetic license of your own, just flash us some fonts!

The hop started over on JULEE'S BLOG and hopefully you've hopped along and arrived here from SONY'S blog.  If not, be sure and start at the beginning so y'all don't miss a thing.  Trust me, you WANT to take it all in!

My card today combines the above challenge with the latest VIVA LA VERVE challenge that you can find HERE.  It's basically this sketch along with the use of gray, yellow and aqua.  I have fallen in LOVE with this color combo!  You'll definitely be seeing it again from me!  I used the WONDERFULLY MADE set that focuses on the sentiment, and was inspired earlier this week by one of Julee's amazing cards and used the FLUTTERING BY set for my layered butterfly along with the flowers from the new PETALS & WINGS set for the yellow background stamping.  The sentiment is stamped onto one of the tags from the BANNER BUNDLE die set and the detail of the vellum SCALLOP TRIM die adds just the right touch on the side of the main panel.  You can't tell very well from these pics, but the flower centers are stamped in gold shimmer!  So pretty!

Ok, don't stop here, move onto our newest and sweetest team member, Chaitali's blog and see what she's created today!

Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines, and a little bit about our brand new Diva!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  I made "faux" washi tape from plain patterned paper by just cutting a strip about 3/4 to an inch wide and then weaving my scissors back and forth on each end, made it look like it was a torn piece of tape.  Then just glue it down.  LOVE this!

Paper:  White, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist (PTI), Vellum, Dots and Stripes (Echo Park), Twirly Girly (Chickaniddy)
