Graduate With Verve

Well, I've so been enjoying seeing all the posts on Facebook of everyone's kiddos graduating.  We have one that's been graduated for a few years now, and for our two other girls, I know time will fly by so fast and they will be going across that stage before we know it.  Luckily, we still have a few more years--Audrie will be in 5th and Lindsie will be in 8th grade next year!

Anyway, with all that in mind, I thought I'd make a quick graduation card to commemorate all the graduates this year using some of my favorite VERVE stamps.  I don't know why, but whenever I make a graduation card, my "go to" colors that come to my head are always black, red, white and gold (and no, that's not because those were my high school colors--Go Richland Rebels!).  This time I threw a little gray in there as well.  Surprisingly, I didn't even start with a sketch, so this card "graduated" into what it is now using the HAPPY DAYS set for most of the stamping and the GEARED UP set for the numbers that I stamped onto the BANNER BUNDLE die cut.  I finished it up with the PENNANT TRIM and STARRY dies which I cut from some gold mirror cardstock.  I adore that stuff!!

Ok, I've got to run off, we are getting ready to head to another soccer tournament today out of town for Audrie.  If you have a graduate this year, this card's for them!  Squeeze their neck and tell them CONGRATS from me!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  I think I've said this before, but layering little stars on top of big ones is a  YES.

Stamps:  Happy Days, Geared Up (Verve Stamps)
Paper:  White, Pure Poppy, Black (PTI), Gold Mirror (Bazzill), Kraft in Color (Doodlebug), Gray Chevvies (Paper Studio)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Red Hot (MFT)
Accessories:  Banner Bundle, Starry, Pennant Trim (A Cut Above Dies by Verve), Foam Boosters
Finished Size:  A2

  1. You know I love your work. I've said it often. Well I used this grad card and made one like it and posting it on my blog Thursday 6-19-14.. I linked your card and mentioned your blog and gave all the credit to you. I hope it's ok. I sent this to my grandson. Thanks for making my mind think what would Susan do.. : ) Hugs
