Countdown to Confetti: Oliver Owl

PSST...I have TWO posts today!  Click HERE for the Verve Diva Inspiration Hop.

Well, today starts the COUNTDOWN for the newest release from REVERSE CONFETTI!  It's an extra special release this time too, because this month we are celebrating our FIRST BIRTHDAY!  What would a birthday celebration be without some extra fun prizes?  Read on...

Today, the Confetti Crew is sharing their projects using two new stamp sets--OLIVER OWL from the Quirky Cuties line and WINNING (I'll be sharing my project for that one on the 8th--Blog Hop day!).

OLIVER OWL is super cute colored up with markers or pencils as you may have seen from the other DT members, but I wanted to try something a little different and use him for the "chalkboard" effect.  I just heat embossed the image in white onto the black cardstock and then took a q-tip and some white ink to give it a little smudge here and there.  Then I paper-pieced his cute tie.  I used several Confetti Cuts dies (see supply list below), but the one I used that's new with this release is the OH MY STARS die.  These two yellow stars are the remnants from this new border die.  The "class of 2014" was stamped from the LIGHTHEARTED LETTERS set, even though Oliver does come with some witty sentiments of his own.  Here's the new stuff:

We have lots more sneak peeks to share over the next 2 days.  Then, everything will be available on the 8th.  Don't forget that Jen has a link list going daily (May 5-8) for all the sneak peeks over on the REVERSE CONFETTI blog HERE.

Want to win some REVERSE CONFETTI of your very own?
Because it's our BIRTHDAY, we have even more prizes this month!

Leave a comment on each of the designer's blogs for a chance to win either a $25 gift certificate or the ENTIRE NEW RELEASE (6 stamp sets and 6 Confetti Cuts!).  Comments will close at noon CST on May 7th and the winner will be announced at 5pm on May 7th on the Reverse Confetti Blog and our Facebook page.  In addition to having a chance to win just by leaving a comment on the sneak peek posts, we are also running a Facebook promotion for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate. After you are done checking out the sneak peeks, head on over to OUR FACEBOOK PAGE and look for the promotional graphic.

SUSIE Q-TIP:  I use my paper piercer with the little foam mat and "hole stencil" from Stampin' Up all the time whenever I need to poke a hole for brads like I did here on the stars.  Even though I'm just poking the one hole in each star, I still used the "stencil" part, as this keeps my cardstock flat and doesn't let it bend while I poke the hole.  It's a good idea.

Stamps:  Oliver Owl, Lighthearted Letters (Reverse Confetti)
Paper:  White, Black, Pure Poppy, Harvest Gold (PTI), Dots and Stripes (Echo Park), Lime Twist (MME)
Ink:  Tuxedo Memento Black, Versamark (Tsukineko), White Craft Ink (SU!)
Accessories:  Oh My Stars, Office Edges, Class Act, and Beautiful Banners (Confetti Cuts Dies by Reverse Confetti), Heat Tool, White EP, Circle Punch, Divine Twine (TCP), Silver Brads, Foam Boosters
Finished Size:  A2
