April Verve Diva Inspiration Hop

Welcome to Verve's April Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's hopping time! This month we've got a fabulous challenge that's sure to put a string in your step! So in addition to a comment prize hidden along the hop, you can play along with the challenge and link up your creation for a chance to win another prize!

Our April challenge is Chic Chevrons:
Chevrons are the new polka-dots! Get groovy and use this popular pattern somewhere on your creation. Whether you draw inspiration from the graphic or zig-zag off on your own, just show us some chic chevrons!

The hop started over on JULEE'S BLOG and hopefully you've hopped along and arrived here from SONY'S blog.  If not, be sure and start at the beginning so y'all don't miss a thing.  Trust me, you WANT to take it all in!

This card I made for y'all to see today is what I made for my sweet hubby for our 15th wedding anniversary which was on the 3rd.  He surprised me that day!  He took the day off and took me "window shopping" for new furnishings and decor for our new home that's being built.  It was all his idea, too!  I was so shocked and loved spending the entire day with him!  Anyway, I mixed the newer MORE THAN LOVE set with the older TAG TIME set, and for the tag, also cut it out with the TAGGED RECTANGLE die.  I still managed to get a little "chevron chic" in there with my embossing on the red panel.  I used a recent Deconstructed Sketch for my card and cut the hearts out with the WAVY HEARTS and HEART QUARTET dies.

Ok, don't stop here, move onto my sweet friend, STACEY'S BLOG and see what she's created today.
Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines.

SUSIE Q-TIP:  If y'all haven't ever noticed, I LOVE to mix patterns and textures.  Don't be afraid to do the same.  I didn't really know how the floral pattern on the tag was going to fare with the chevron and more masculine feel of this card.  Um, I think it works, especially with the addition of the wooden butterfly and lots of layers.  Go for it!
