Viva la Verve--a Cool Sketch
Well, I halfway followed the latest Viva la Verve Challenge. Here's a look at January's week 3 sketch and inspiration photo:
Soooo, notice anything awry about my take on the challenge? I think with all I have going on around here in Lilesland, I was just lucky to get this card even made, so don't judge!
Yep, so I totally forgot about the inspiration part of the challenge. Or maybe I didn't. Don't y'all see that little bit of orange in the inspiration picture? LOL. No, you can't because there isn't any. When I sat down to make this card, I got all giddy about playing with my Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits for coloring the flowers from the older ABUNDANT BLESSINGS set from VERVE on kraft cardstock. I grabbed oranges, pinks and yellows and went to town! So much for the purple. Maybe next time. The sentiment is from my latest fave, the CHEVRON LOVE set and I stamped it on the white die cut from the BANNER BUNDLE die set.
Anyway, it's a lovely sketch, don'tcha think? Have you heard the news? Justin Bieber got arr....oh wait, I mean this way more important news--->All of the Viva la Verve sketches (+inspiration +color) will now be hosted on the VIVA LA VERVE blog HERE. That's where you'll find the latest challenge info and how to play along. YOUR creation could quite possibly be featured on the weekly Viva la Viewfinder post and win a $100 gift certificate to Verve!
SUSIE Q-TIP: I really debated about using buttons for my flower centers along with the twine tied in them. Then I nosed around in my craft supplies a little more (the ones that aren't already packed) and found these fun yellow/gold flatback rhinestones from Pizzazz Aplenty. They were perfect, so as not to overdo the buttons/twine combos. One even landed a part as the center of my twine bow.
