There's No Place Like Home

Well, it's the end of the semester for school around here and the girls have another 3-day weekend.  Not that we are finishing up moving or anything, or that this would be the perfect weekend to do that.  No, no, it still hasn't happened.  Currently, I'm wrapping my brain around the THREE HOUSES we are in between right now.  We have yet to close on our current home as the buyer's lender is requiring some foundation work (to happen next week).  Meanwhile, we are already in a lease for a rent home around the corner where we have already moved anything that isn't being used to sit on, sleep on or eat on (now dubbed the world's most expensive storage unit).  And then, there's the house we are building--we just got the call that the Fort Worth permits have been ordered and the construction will start in 6-8 weeks.  Needless to say, we are ALL ready for forward progress here in Lilesland and ready to settle again!

That brings me to this card I made for the REVERSE CONFETTI
January Color Challenge.

I had all our "Three Little Pig" houses on my brain when I came up with this one using the new Keywords set, GO TOGETHER.  The house stamp and it's little sentiment rings truer than ever for us right now, but we are still looking forward to the next step in moving completely to the rental house.  I used the new LOVE NOTE die set for the scalloped panel.  The stripe background was stamped from the SO STRIPEY set and cut out and matted onto the skinny black.  I {heart} the little heart border at the bottom of my wonky black panel which I just sort of figured out and handcut.  I had never done one of those before!

Anyway, we sure would appreciate all the prayers, happy thoughts and positive vibes you can send this way.  The foundation work is supposed to start on Tuesday with the final inspection on Thursday which will then be forwarded to their lender for approval...then maybe we can CLOSE on this darn thing and get this show on the road during the first week of February!  What a great birthday present that would be---my birthday is coming on January 30th, y'all know!

Oh and by the way, don't forget to play along in the January Color Challenge--find all the details HERE on the REVERSE CONFETTI BLOG.

SUSIE Q-TIP:  To make my black wonky panel, I simply cut long, skinny triangle slivers off of two sides of the panel, leaving the upper left corner a 90 degree angle.  Or you could just glue the whole rectangle panel down how you want it and cut the overhang at the corners off.  Tomato, Tomahto.

Stamps:  Go Together, So Stripey (Reverse Confetti)
Paper:  White, Black, Canyon Clay (PTI), Dots and Stripes (Echo Park)
Ink:  Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie (SU!), Mint Green (Heidi Swapp)
Accessories:  Love Note Die Set (Reverse Confetti), Adhesive Rhinestones, Jody Boosters
Finished Size:  A2
