TCP Tuesday Challenge #252

Well, happy Monday and Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!  I'm sure Lindsie will ask me if we can go out to dinner to celebrate.  That girl will come up with anything to have a reason to go out to eat (she did that last Columbus Day)!  While MLK Jr. Day is a great day for celebration and gratefulness, it just doesn't coincide with a fancy dinner out in our family.  Today we will be taking care of errands while Eric is off work and later seeing Frozen (I think we are the only ones left on the planet that hasn't seen this movie yet!).  We desperately need some normalcy around here for a change!  That's one reason why I'm here today--to try and get back into a normal routine of stamping and blogging, stamping and blogging.  I don't know why I get so lax.  I love visiting with y'all!

Let's get right to it.  We are still working on Jessie's TCP Tuesday Challenge from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS--#252 Paper Piecing.  I was excited to use this challenge as a good "jumping back in" point, as this is one of my favorite things to do.  However, my fussy-cutting needs a little work due to needing my glasses prescription renewed.  Yikes!  Better get this done before I start my substitute teaching job!

I used the fun and "Valentine's-y" GOT LOVE set as my main image and paper pieced each heart balloon with a different patterned paper.  I wanted to use a different sentiment than from the Got Love set, so I grabbed the newer WORDS OF LOVE and mixed a couple stamps together.  I also used one of my new favorite dies, DOTS which is so easy to create pattern and texture with at the same time.

Ok, back to my errands and I can't wait for the movie!  Check out the TCP blog HERE for all the details on how to play along.  If you can't squeeze in time today, a new challenge starts weekly every Tuesday, so be sure and pop in for the next one!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  If you take a closer look at my card, I've paper pieced all the heart balloons then took it a step further and popped up the smallest (whole) green balloon on a dimensional foam booster.  When doing this, be sure to color (doesn't have to be exact match or perfect) the image underneath, so that it looks more finished.  Try it.

  1. A fun layered card - the colors are gorgeous as are those paper pieced balloons.
