October Verve Diva Inspirations Hop

Well, I can't believe we've hit October already.  We are in for a cold front coming through tonight and it's going to be glorious!  Perfect weather for hot chocolate and Friday night football!  That's what I had in mind when I made this card for the World Card Making Day edition of VERVE DIVA INSPIRATIONS HOP! It's the 5th of the month and that means it's hopping time. Along today's hop you'll see some fresh new ideas for some beloved older sets, as well as some fantastic pairings of our latest release with existing sets. It's sure to be a treat, and we've got treats to give away, too!

2. Amy11. Teresa
3. Betty12. Maureen
4. Jessica13. Charmaine
5. Karen14. Christyne
6. Sankari15. Andrea
7. Sarah16. Amber
9. Susan17. Stacey {Guest}
9. Tiffany

The hop started over on JULEE'S BLOG and you should have swung on over here from SARAH'S BLOG.  You'd find it in your best interest to start at the beginning and go from there!  Y'all wouldn't want to miss anything, would you?  I didn't think so.

I started my card off by getting a grasp on this week's unique sketch from the Mojo Monday blog (MOJO313).

It was another unusual sketch for me to work with, so I kept it pretty true to form without trying to be too outside the box.  I had loved Julee's sample and it's crinkled ribbon, so I thought I'd try that look but with washi tape.  The VERVE stamp set is one of my favorites (I had even lost it and had to reorder a new one, I love it that much!), BETTER WITH YOU.  It had been out of stock for a bit, but is back IN and better yet--on SALE!  Nothing else fancy here, no dies, just a few punches, a little coloring and heat embossing on the main sentiment to really make it stand out.  I have to say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out!

Ok, off you go to TIFFANY'S BLOG for your next stop on the hop, but before you click too far away from me....

Want to win Verve's ENTIRE September Release? Jut leave comments on all of the blogs on today's hop to be entered in the drawing!

And since World Card Making Day is the official start to the holiday card making season, Verve has a 25% off sale on Christmas stamps this weekend only!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  I don't do it often enough, but I love the look of sentiments and things stamped on patterned paper.  Even though this time, the patterned paper was pretty neutral without a lot of competing print, I heat embossed my sentiment in shiny black.  It really makes it stand out and makes your card that much more easy on the eyes.  Embossing is boss.
Stamps:  Better With You (Verve)
Paper:  White, Black, Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy (PTI), Summer Fresh (Simple Stories)
Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Versamark (Tsukineko), Close To Cocoa (SU!)
Accessories:  Circle and Scallop Circle Punches, Sewing Machine/Thread, Washi Tape, Copic Markers, Silver Brads, Black Embossing Powder (Judikins), Heat Tool, Red Heart Adhesive Rhinestones, Foam Boosters
Finished Size: 5" Square
