TCP Tuesday--Paper Piecing

Well, you can always tell I've been crafting by the number of bruises on my knees.  This week, even an ice pack was called for.  My desk is one of those older, solid wood, "kneehole" desks.  So if I move to my right or left too quickly, I hit my knees right on the corners of the drawers on each side.  And when I'm in a crafting groove, I tend to forget and slam my knees constantly!

Anyway, I've been busy making scrapbook layouts for our Crop and Shop event this weekend for Scrapper's Boutique.  And now I've made a fun little card for this month's TCP Tuesday from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  My knees are definitely taking the brunt of all this crafting energy.
But look!  Ya'll get to see the end result, sans bruised knees (I'll spare you pics)!  This month, Alma has challenged everyone to get busy with a little PAPER PIECING

I have had this adorable rocket ship bunny from SOAR and its paper piecing parts stamped and cut out for quite some time, and the poor guy is finally getting his chance in the spotlight!

Then, I really wanted to come up with a unique sentiment for the white circle.  I combined other sentiments from a couple of sets and stamped the "and" & "3,2,1" using the COOLVETICA alphabet set.  I used the FLY HIGH set and the AIM HIGH sets for the other wording, with much artistic license!  CutUps dies are amazing!  I added almost all my embellishments using them--TALK TO ME (arrows), HOLIDAY TOPPERS and STARS (various sized stars) and the CLOUD BORDER.

Now, if ya'll want to be the coolest cats in town, ya'll will definitely want to play along in our challenge!  Check out ALMA'S BLOG HERE to find out how.  Hopefully your desk won't jump up and bite you like mine does, every.single.time.

SUSIE Q-TIP:  Look for ways to combine sentiments you already own to make new ones!  Alphabet stamps in a smaller size like this one are always helpful for the "extra" words you may need.

Stamps:  Soar, Fly High, Aim High, Coolvetica Alphabet (The Cat's Pajamas)
Paper:  White, Harvest Gold, Pure Poppy, Blueberry Sky (PTI), Dots and Stripes (Echo Park), Honey (MME), Silver POW (AC)

Finished Size:  A2

  1. This is so much FUN! I love the long-eared bunneh, he gets into all sorts of cool mischief! Need to play along, hopefully soon!

  2. What a fun card - love every little bit of it, especially those great primary colors against the grey.

  3. looooove this so much! hahaha, about your bruises (not cuz you got hurt, but)....I have a similar desk and hit my legs all the time, especially if I leave a drawer open...ouch!

  4. Your card is darling! So many different elements! Love it!
