Well, have ya'll been missing me? I guess I took a little week off there from blogging. What was I doing? Oh, I can't even remember. Must have been busy, though because my desk is a mess! Which can only mean a few more blog posts for this week. Here's what I have today...
I think paper piecing is one of the easiest ways to tie in patterned paper with your main image. Here I used the WITCHY set (being discontinued, by the way--I has a sad.) and once I colored her skin, hair, kitty and other accents, I simply stamped her again on the grey dot paper and then cut out those pieces. Her hat brim was SOOOO skinny! The card layout is from Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #193, but I flipped it to the opposite side since my witchy was facing left!
Ok, so this is a super easy challenge, no? So easy in fact, ya'll have no excuse NOT to play along! Find out how you can be next month's SWANKY STAMPER and win some stamps from our next new release! It's all on Alma's blog HERE.
But wait, there's MORE!....
Did ya'll hear the news? We have 2 NEW KITTIES who have just joined THE CAT PACK! Please help us welcome JESSIE RONE and KELLI JO HULL! I'm proud to call these girls my friends as I have worked with them before on various teams and have even had the pleasure of hanging out with Jessie at at swap a few years ago. Now it's Kelli's turn to come to TEXAS!
SUSIE Q-TIP: I have said this several times before regarding paper piecing. The Xyron "X" sticker maker is your best friend when using this technique. Can ya'll just imagine the gluey mess I would have had on my hands trying to stick all those tiny hat pieces down on my little witchy there? Also, an art gum eraser rubbed gently over the pieces after you stick them down lifts all the excess "stickum".
