Retro Sketch #76

Well, I had a little extra time yesterday afternoon to whip out a quick and simple card.  Go me, mine are usually NEVER quick and simple!

I had been wanting to pull out my ARROWS 'N ELEMENTS set from REVERSE CONFETTI, so decision #1 had been made and that's where I started.

Then I found this fun sketch over on the Retro Sketch blog (is that supposed to be one word or two?).  It's the latest one from this past Saturday #76, and lends itself toward a clean and simple design, don't ya'll think?

The way my brain works, I tend to always use bold, bright colors with a lot of pop. (I know, I hear you thinking it--"NO, Susan, really?") However, this time, I wanted to challenge myself even further and go with a softer color palette.  The pink panel is stamped in pink ink using the WHOLE LOTTA DOTS set.  Did you know the stamps in that set line up perfectly for "continuous stamping"?  Because Jen thinks ahead like that.  She's the brainiac of the entire Reverse Confetti operation.  And yesterday was her birthday.  Check out the latest installment of WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS over on the Reverse Confetti blog HERE and while you're at it, wish her a happy belated birthday, why don'tcha!?

SUSIE Q-TIP:  If you don't have a color of ink light enough for what you need, try inking it up, stamping it off once on scratch paper and stamping it again without reinking.  That's how I got the lighter tan color for the printing lines in the bottom corner of my card today.  #maybeIdon'thaveenoughcolors  #somebodysendmesome

  1. Wow again. Awesome card and I think I may need to get that one background borders set. I have the other one. I'm loving how you put it all together.
