July Release Blog Hop from Your Next Stamp

Well, it's new release time from YOUR NEXT STAMP and I'm super excited to share what I made with ya'll today.  A new release means we have a super fun BLOG HOP for ya'll to kick through today, too.  All the new stamps and dies are available NOW in the Your Next Stamp store.

The hop began over on Laura's blog and you should have dribbled on over here from Julie's blog.  The hop will run through Wednesday, July 24th at 12 midnight (EST) and as always we have a fabulous prize to be won if you hop along with us!  Just leave comments on all of the participating DT blogs for your chance to win!

So how many of ya'll have kids that play soccer (or is it a Texas thing)?  I think I've mentioned a time (or two) that we are a soccer loving family and furthermore LOVE our soccer team "families".  Lindsie and Audrie are on some very competitive teams and both of their coaches are fabulous and coach them in positive ways that will have long-lasting impacts in shaping their lives.  We are so incredibly lucky.  The pic is Lindsie's Sports Illustrated shot of her "doing her thing".  Look at that form! They both love it so much!

That's why I was so excited to see the JULY RELEASE for YOUR NEXT STAMP and that it included this super cute multi-sports stamp set called SPORTS ELLIE.  I had to have it.  She's also got some baseball, football and basketball accessories and you could easily use this for boy cards by simply cutting off the "topknot" in her hair.  The jersey number is from the new NUMBERS BOARD DIE.  It's similar to the Letter Board die, but numbers!  Perfect and I can't wait to incorporate this into some Project Life stuff (more coming soon)!

Lindsie's coach, Hector recently took our girls, his granddaughters (who are our girls best friends and teammates) and a few other teammates to a Texas Ranger game and an FC Dallas soccer game, so I made this card for the girls to give to him as a thank you!  (And now my oldest daughter, Shelbie got a full-time job as his wife's personal assistant at the company she works for!  I told him we may as well be related.  LOL!)  Again, we are so incredibly lucky and love our soccer "family".

Ok, time for me to kick ya'll on over to Jen's blog for the next stop on our hop today.  I hope ya'll SCORE BIG and get some sweet new stamps to play with!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  One of the sentiments in this set is "Thanks, Coach!" as you can see.  However, the actual stamp is in one long stamp (words read left to right).  I wanted to insert this other stamp from the set, "You're an ALL-STAR" in between the "thanks" and the "coach" words and cut it in the circle shape.  Of course one solution to make this work would be to mask it off and stamp only what I wanted, where I wanted it.  I took the easy way out and cut my stamp sentiment to make two separate stamps.  I give you permission to cut your sentiment stamps too.  I do it all the time.  No bigs.

Stamps:  Sports Ellie (Your Next Stamp)
Paper:  Black, White, Pure Poppy (PTI), Basic Grey, Sports (Teresa Collins)

Accessories:  Numbers Board Die (Your Next Stamp), Circus Border (TCP), Grass Die-namics (MFT), Pinked Circle and Circle Nestabilities, Star Punch, Copic Markers, Silver Brads, Hot Glue, Jody Boosters

  3. Wow Susie, this is a great thank you card! I love the soccer player with numbers on her jersey. Great way to personalize and perfect for scrapbooking too. Yes, we are a soccer family as well in Ohio. Your daughter's pic is ready for the cover of a magazine! I'm always striving to get one of those shots. ; ) Thanks for the tip as well. Perfect solution!

  8. Absolutely LOVE your card and that picture of your daughter about to kick the ball is amazing!!! Soccer family here too -- mind you I'm sure you have MUCH nicer weather conditions to play in....less rain, less cold, no sleet and no needing to be bundled up like Nanook of the North when you go to watch a game in the winter LOL! So good to hear they have such amazing coaches too -- makes all the difference!!

  9. My take is your card is so perfect! You put a lot of work and detail in this card. My grandson (3 yrs old) just started to play soccer this summer and it is so much fun watching him try to kick the soccer ball - most of the time his time just follows the ball around like a swarm of bees. Your card is a perfect idea for his coach at the end of the summer games. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful card.

  13. OH MY you did it again. Your card just pop, they scream Susie every time I see one. I love your card. I love the image and all the details of your stamp and all the die cuts. They always bring a big smile to me. I too cut apart stamps to make them work. First time I did it was oh my what have I done, but it gets easier and when it works out perfect it's all the more gratifying. Oh and love the freckles. Hugs
