Celebrate Today and Dare to Get Dirty

Well, we are still dealing with the awful smell of death here at my house (a mouse died in the wall).  Thanks to you, sweet Billie A. (hi!), we put some open boxes of baking soda behind the fridge to hopefully absorb some of the odor.  Great idea, although pulling the refrigerator out from the wall, made it waft out again.  Just gotta give it some time, but I do think the baking soda is helping a bit.

Yesterday was a productive day, as we are getting ready for our vacation NEXT Sunday!  Got some errands run, car oil changed and the yard mowed.  I got to work on this card for the DARE TO GET DIRTY Fan Club Event over on Splitcoaststampers.  As a former Dirty Dozen Alumni (a.k.a. Dirty Girl), I made a sample card for one of the challenges brought to us by my talented friend, Karen Giron.  It's the most FABULOUS week on Splitcoast, you know--A week chock-full of challenges, prizes and FUN brought to you by current and past Dirty Dozen girls!  If you aren't "in the know" about it and how YOU can play along, check out what it's all about HERE.

For my card, I couldn't resist using some of my favorite stamps from REVERSE CONFETTI!

CELEBRATE CAKE is front and center, while WHOLE LOTTA DOTS was used to make the navy patterned papers.  I can't tell you what Karen's challenge was exactly--you'll have to go see for yourself!

And FYI, I may be back soon with another
DARE TO GET DIRTY PROJECT!
This was too fun!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  I like wholeness.  So when a border punch or die is used, sometimes it bothers me that I would have to cut part of the complete "shape" it makes, i.e. an individual scallop in this case, off.  Sometimes it doesn't bother me.  But this time, I had to make them whole.  Therefore it made my border shorter than my panel it's tucked under and that's ok.  Two little partial scallops on either end would have made me crazy.

Stamps:  Celebrate Cake, Whole Lotta Dots (Reverse Confetti)
Paper:  White, Kraft, Enchanted Evening, Orange Zest (PTI), Regal Rose (SU!), Dots and Stripes (Echo Park)
Ink Licorice Black (MFT), Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy, Only Orange, Rose Romance (SU!)
AccessoriesScallop Border Die-namics (MFT), Circle Nestabilities, Circle Punches, Button, Adhesive Rhinestones, Blueberry Divine Twine (TCP), Hot Glue, Jody Boosters
Finished Size:  A2
