June Verve Diva Inspiration Hop

Well, this week is well underway and I'm back with a fun teacher card and the June Verve Diva Inspiration Hop.  You see, I'm irrationally sad about Audrie's 3rd grade teacher.  She's moving to a different school.  I know.  Audrie couldn't, wouldn't have her again next year, but we will certainly miss seeing her.  Audrie had her for Kindergarten as well as 3rd grade this year, and absolutely loves her!  I'm bracing myself for lots of tears from Audrie on Thursday, our last day of school.  I'm hoping to stay friends and wish her the BEST of luck at her new school closer to her home.  I'm still sad and so is Audrie.  So I made this card for her, knowing Audrie would LOVE to give it to her along with something special I am finishing up making today (stay tuned).

As with all of our Verve Diva Inspiration Hops, it's the 5th of the month and time for the Inspiration Team to breathe some much needed new life into some older stamps and dies.  The blog started over on Julee's Poetic Artistry Blog.  It's ok, you have time to go back and start at the beginning, summer's here!

At one time, I planned on becoming a high school Biology teacher.  Boy am I glad that didn't pan out.  I just don't think I would have had the patience, especially for teenagers!  But I think that might be where my love of all things "teacher-y" started.  So last month, when Verve introduced this stamp set, Teachers Count, and the matching Apple Dies, I knew they both would have to come live with me!  I thought I could mix in a couple of older things to inspire ya'll to give your older Verve some lovins' and knew the little Rounded Scallop Frame would look cute somehow.  Of course that lead me to use the Making a Statement set for the frame stamp and the grid paper background.  The little tab was made with the Flag It Dies and I couldn't resist the sweet sentiment from the Sunny Days set and tucked it near the Scallop Trim star border.  The layout is from this week's Viva La Verve Sketch (June week 1) and you can find it HERE.  I just turned my card horizontally to make everything fit!

Well, thanks for stopping by to see me again today!
Your next stop on the hop is Tiffany.

But wait!  There's a sweet Verve PRIZE up for grabs, so be sure to leave a little shout out in the comment section of each blog as you hop about to be entered in a drawing for a $30 gift certificate to Verve Stamps! Check out all the details and prize info over at the Verve Blog.

SUSIE Q-TIP:  Who knew that a dark pine green would look so comfy with yellow, aqua and red.  I have to say, it wasn't the first green I picked for this card.  It was originally going to be an olive green because I had seen a girl with an aqua and olive dress on at Target the other day and loved the combo.  Not to say it didn't work, I was totally inspired, but when I put the not-so-often-used darker green next to it, it was a Yes moment.  Give unloved colors a chance.

Stamps:  Teachers Count, Making a Statement, Sunny Days (Verve)
Paper:  White, Pure Poppy, Pinefeather, Aqua Mist (PTI), Summer Days (Echo Park)
School Days 6x6 (My Mind's Eye)
