Lovefest on Splitcoast--A Little Something from Verve

Well, have you ever had that feeling you've forgotten to do something?  Ummm.  I'll raise my hand...Like EVERY DAY!  I have to admit that I am not the best at remembering stuff.  That's why I'm a list/note/reminder/alarm on my phone girl.  However, even all that doesn't help sometimes.  Especially with the month I've had.  You can read my previous posts, and even after all that stuff, there was WAY more than ya'll have time for that went on here in Lilesland, not to mention being super sick a couple of weeks ago (that included an ER trip) and then going for a repeat with some other fun virus and migraine this past weekend (that along with included drinking prep for a colonoscopy that I had Monday.)  See?  TMI!  That's my story and I'm sticking to it!  All that to say, that could possibly be the reason why I totally forgot to show ya'll this card I made for the LOVEFEST on Splitcoast!

Verve was the Member Company that was spotlighted on the 22nd.  Julee came up with a sweet color challenge that included the "Verve colors"--Brown and Aqua, plus either pink or yellow.  There's still a little bit of time to play for Verve goodies, so be sure and real all about it HERE.

I made this card for a dear friend of mine to give to one of her friends who found out she's having twins a little later in life and maybe is a little in shock!  Wouldn't you be?  I almost hyperventilated (for real) when I found out I was pregnant with Audrie back in 2003, and she was just ONE baby!  Anyway, I decided to use my To the Moon stamp set from Verve for the little elephants representing the twins, but used this ever-uplifting sentiment from Words of Wisdom--it's my FAVORITE!  At the time, I snuck in a couple of die-cuts from some Verve dies that hadn't been released yet.  (I told ya'll I was sly.)  However, they are now available--Flag It Die Set and the Scalloped Trim Trio Die Set.  They are both MUST HAVES!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  I cut the little elephants where their arms were next to their tummies, so that I could make it look like they were hanging over the top edge of the sentiment panel.  I know this is very specific, but check and see if you have any stamps that may work for this as well.

Stamps: To the Moon, Words of Wisdom (Verve)
Paper: White, Aqua Mist, Dk. Chocolate, Harvest Gold, Lime Twist (MME), Summertime (Echo Park)
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black (Tsukineko), Reflecting Pool (SUINK)
Accessories: Scalloped Trim Trio, Flag It Die Set (A Cut Above Dies by Verve), Nestabilities Label, Circle Punch, Copic Markers, Sewing Machine/Thread, Silver Adhesive Flatbacks, Button, Twine (TCP), Hot Glue, Jody Boosters

  1. Such a cute card!! Love the Emery times two :)

  2. Absolutely adorable, Susan! Yep, it's definitely a shocker... I was completely blindsided when I was told I was having twins. Hadn't even thought of it as a possibility. I was having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of just having ONE and then they said there were TWO and I started crying and continued crying for weeks. That double dose of hormones probably had a lot to do with it!!! :) Anyhow, your card is PERFECT!

  3. Susan, this is so adorable!
