November Sketch For You To Try

Well, who's in denial with me that it's November already?  I just find it hard to believe that we are right around the corner from Thanksgiving and then Christmas once again.  I love the "ramp up" to the holidays time!

But before I get too ahead of myself and jump to New Years (LOL!), I need to back up and deal with what's at hand for today!  It's the first Saturday of the month and that means we've got a brand new Sketch For You To Try from Jen and a brand new sponsor for the month--Sweet Stamp Shop!  Here's a look at this month's sketch.  Jen has all the details on her blog on how to play along HERE.

And here's a closer look at my card I made using the sweet 3x4 set called Furry Friends Forever.

I love this little set and I knew I wanted to create with it due to this short little "backstory".  I was partial to the raccoon and bunny for this card because I have a thing for raccoons ever since one rang my doorbell earlier in the year.  YES, I said rang my doorbell and I wholeheartedly believe that's who did it, even though my neighbors tease me about it.  Our doorbell rang at midnight and the only "person" I could find anywhere near our house was a raccoon in my neighbor's driveway--AND he looked pretty guilty!  Now for the bunny--Eric just finished reading the book, "Watership Down", the classic novel which depicts rabbits going through an oppression that parallels some kind of communistic dilemma (he's the reader in the family, not me), and who knows what else those bunnies did.  So ever since then, I've been teasing him about reading his "bunny book" and liking bunnies, etc.--awww!  I've GOT to get him something bunny related for Christmas just as a joke!  SO that cute little bunny on my card represents him and the raccoon represents me!  I know it's goofy, but I never said I was a deep thinker, now did I?

Ok, I'm sure my other SFYTT sisters have some inspiration for you, but I bet they don't have as good of a raccoon story as I did.  Also, our newest Guest Designer for November is Nicole Sison!  Check out a little about her over on Jen's blog, and be sure and visit her blog SPLITCOAST GALLERY HERE and leave her some love!

SUSIE Q-TIP:  I used some more washi tape from my stash to create a strip of contrast on my card and then again a little underneath my sentiment tag.  That stuff is so easy to use!  Maybe Santa will put a few rolls in your stocking.  And a bunny.
