Stronger Love for Lazy Sundays

Well, it's a lazy Sunday around here.  No soccer, raining, a tiny bit of laundry, a roast in the oven and football is all that was on the agenda for today, so I got to play a little bit in my stamp space (a little corner of our bedroom.  I call it my craft room, but we just happen to sleep in there!).  I like lazy Sundays.

I've been itching to make another Verve-alicious card, so I came up with this by mixing a little old with a little new as usual, and pairing it with an OLD SFYTT sketch from back in January 2011 (with a bit of tweaking).  Have I ever told ya'll that Verve is SO GOOD like that?  It's my favorite (along with lazy Sundays).  I used the newer Stronger Love set for the sentiment and added the butterfly using the All Aflutter Die set and stamped the coordinating butterfly from Blue Skies (one of my FAVORITE Verve sets ever!).  I wasn't going to add the dark orange color, until some Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist from my stash yelled out and said, "use me"!, so I did on the flower panel, giving it some sparkly dark orange splotchy sparkle-grunge.  So then came the buttons, ribbon and some quick coloring of the flower centers with a Copic marker.  That's what lazy Sundays are for...listening to your art and following your heart.

SUSIE Q-TIP:  To me, there is a "front and back" to a paper or cardstock once it's been dry embossed with an embossing folder.  On this card, I used what to me is "the back" for a different look on that linen colored panel.  Try it.

  1. This is a great card! Do you know the name of the embossing folder? I would love to be able to buy one, but can't find the name of it.
