TCP Tuesday #224--Water, Water Everywhere!

Well, I had to get a new battery for my car on Sunday. I drove my oldest daughter, Shelbie to a garage sale around the corner to pick up a handmade easel for her to paint large canvasses on. Once the deal was sealed ($20 and it was an antique!) and we loaded it into The Beast (1998 Ford Expedition), it didn't start. Just clicking. We left the easel in the car and walked home, with my new (to me) oversized gigantic pair of antique 12" scissors in hand that I had to have for $4.50, to get Eric to come rescue the car. I must have friends in low places, as it died right in front of my friend, Andy's house (I went to junior high and high school with him). He had just pulled up from going out to dinner and gave me a jump, but not before blaming ME for the shape the car was in! HA! He's always had a fun sense of humor!! I'm so lucky to live in a great neighborhood and I am grateful just about every day, even when I have an extra car expense and especially when they have awesome cool garage sales!

By the way, here's a picture of these AWESOME WISS brand scissors! I think they are circa 1960 or so. They were supposedly used in a butcher shop/grocery store in Ft. Worth called Tillery's that had been there since at least the 30's (but no longer. I'd love to know more about it, but can't find anything)! Won't be running with these babies anytime soon. Anyone need a haircut from way over here?

Anyway, I'm your hipster hostess with the mostess for this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge from The Cat's Pajamas. I take care of the stamp/CutUps challenge and this week, the theme is:

Water, Water Everywhere!

Use any TCP stamp that implies water--whether liquid or frozen. (Sailing bunny, Puddle girl, Fun in the Sun, etc., even winter images/snow.) This should be super easy because there are so many! Combine your stamp choice with one of these CutUps dies:

Wave Border or Snowflake

So I didn't make a card this week for my challenge. I've been jonesin' to make something wintery. I'm ready to get some Christmas stuff underway already. I know. I'm weird. Maybe it's the 1000 degree weather that's getting to me in more ways than one. Anyway, I decided to make a cute little gift box with a handle on it after I colored this skiing dynamo, Ski Bunny in some of the lightest shades of coolness I could muster. I made the frame with the Pinking Border CutUps die that I cut four of and then glued them at the corners and trimmed off the excess before adding some Martha Stewart tinsel glitter. It's really sparkly! Then, to adhere to my challenge, I embellished with the Snowflake die and topped it with the Heart Trio die and a button!

I almost forgot to mention the Queen of Hearts CutUps that I'm trying to impress ya'll with on the handle.

Ok, I hope ya'll enjoyed my little story and project. Here's a picture of Audrie trying to get in the picture when I was photographing it. Goofball. She kept asking me, "Did you get me in the picture?" Why yes, yes I did.

I'm hoping ya'll will get a chance to play along this week. Here's how:

1. Each Tuesday we will give you a challenge.
2. You will have until the end of the month to complete the challenge.
3. Add your entry to the guestbook on Alma's Blog and/or upload to the SCS Gallery, using the keyword TCPTUES224 for this week's challenge.
4. TCP stamps/dies are not required, but of course, highly encouraged. {Unless it is a challenge calling for a specific stamp/die, like this week)
5. There will be one randomly chosen weekly winner, announced on Tuesdays.
6. There will be one winner, The Swanky Stamper, announced the 1st of each month. They will win several sets from an upcoming release and get to play along with us at our Pajama Party and Blog Hop.

SUSIE Q-TIP: SAFETY GOGGLES when playing with glitter. 'Nuff said.

  1. Very cute project....love that little bunny and how you colored him!
We had a battery go out this week, too...what a coincidence! Aaargghhhhh....lucky for us the battery was apparently defective (didn't know there was such a thing) and was replaced at no cost to us! Yay for that, anyway! And hubby took care of that manjob so I was happy.
Love the way Audrie photobombed your photo shoot! :)
