August Sketch For You To Try
Well, happy Saturday! A new sketch is here from Jen's Sketch For You To Try! I'm so happy to announce that Verve Stamps is our sponsor this month, as I am a long time fan and designer for Julee's fabulous stamp company. They are truly some of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE STAMPS. Thanks so much for being this month's sponsor!
Here's a look at the sketch:
And here's a closer look at my card.
I hadn't gotten much of a chance to use my Wings of Love set from Verve since February when I made a Valentine card for Eric, so when I saw the long rectangle for this sketch, I dug around for it right away, knowing this sentiment would be perfect for the main panel. I usually combine several Verve sets when I make a card (because they all coordinate perfectly), but this time, I only used the one. Crazy, I know, but I wanted to keep it simple and the heart with wings was the perfect embellishment. I stamped it once onto some "old wood" patterned paper, then stamped the wavy heart stamp onto some coral patterned paper. I attached the coral one with a pop dot and covered it with Rock Candy Stickles by smearing it around with my finger. Not messy at all, said no one ever.
Ok, I'm keeping this insanely short and sweet today. I'm working at the boutique--come by and say hi!--and then tomorrow, Eric and I will be packing for our VACATION! We leave bright and early Monday morning. I'll be in the Columbus, South Carolina area by Wednesday and then Nashville on Saturday and Sunday! Can't.wait.
But before I go, I KNOW ya'll want to see more inspiration from all of my SFYTT sisters, including our sweet new Guest Designer (that I picked out myself!), Peggy McCurry--she's so excited to be joining us!--learn more about her and how to play along in our fabulous sketch challenge on Jen's blog HERE.
So here ya'll go:

SUSIE Q-TIP: When adding stickles to a paper embellishment, add dimension to it by bending it upwards or curling edges while it's still wet. As the stickles dry, it will keep that shape.
