August Diva Inspiration Hop from Verve

Well, it's T minus one day and counting until Eric and I leave to go on our vacation! (You won't believe the list of things I still have to do to get ready!) But before I go, I still have a couple of posts to share. Today is the 5th, and that always means it's time for the VERVE-ALICIOUS Diva Inspiration Hop from VERVE!

The Verve Divas are here to inspire you with a little Verve! You can start the Hop at the Verve blog. Continue through and comment on each fabulous blog and leave a little comment love and you just might WIN some Vervey goodness of your very own! If you got here from SONY'S BLOG, you are in the right place.

Of course I have nothing on the brain BUT our vacation, so I HAD to make this fun HAPPY VACATION card and pretend to give it to Eric. I showed him the front and told him to have a happy vacation. He said he would try. LOL! I used two older sets, Happy Days and Relax even though we won't be anywhere near an ocean or beach. Maybe next year. I could save it and pretend to give it to him again. It's the thought that counts.

Along with a great start I got on making this card by turning to last Monday's MOJO MONDAY sketch #252 (except I cheated and didn't do round OR square, but my usual A2), I used the Joyful Blooms dies--the smallest one, cut 4, and made the scrunched up flower to top off the star. It added LOTS of dimension, but since I'm only pretending to give this to Eric, he doesn't care how tall it is, since it won't require postage. I guess I could mail it to the hotel we'll be staying at and he could receive it while we are there. Nah, I think he'll be fine with just pretending. Saves on postage. I'm sure tomorrow, he will hand it off to me and pretend to give it to me with the same wishes.

Ok, we hope ya'll are enjoying this Diva Inspirataion Hop for this month! I always love this time of the month!! Next on the hop is my BEAUTIFUL friend (who is still celebrating landing a new fabulous job), AMBER!!

SUSIE Q-TIP: I keep all my white and cream small pieces of cardstock in a little plastic tupperware container on my desk. These are the first pieces I reach for when I'm about to stamp something on white or cream. Don't know if ya'll have ever noticed, but I'm primarily a Papertrey cardstock user. However, sometimes I use Neenah, or a cheaper white cardstock for bases or layers. To keep them straight, once it's small enough to hit the tupperware bucket, I lightly write PTI or N or O (for other), in a corner really small with a pencil. Then when I need to use a piece that I've noted that on, I use it so that I can keep it marked and put back excess in my bucket still with the notation on it. Easy peasy.

Stamps: Relax, Happy Days (Verve)
Paper: Kraft, Lemon Tart, Orange Zest, White, Aqua Mist, Enchanted Evening (PTI), Happy Days 6by6 (My Mind's Eye)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie (SU!)
Accessories: Joyful Blooms (a Cut Above dies from Verve), Ocean Waves Die-namics (MFT), CM Circle Cutter, Circle Nestabilities, Striped Embossing Folder, Tiny Attacher, Star Punches, Silver Brads, Adhesive Rhinestones, Divine Twine (TCP), 3D Glue Dots, Jody Boosters
Finished Size: A2

  15. Amazing. Love the flower and the colors! Enjoy your vacation:). Thank you for the scrap tips. I tend to use several different white cardstocks and they are different whites so I'm doing the forehead slap (why didn't I think of that) right now.
