Well, here we are on the ninth and final day of VERVE previews for the HUGE and AMAZING 5th Anni-VERVE-sary stamp and die release. Nine days! That's a lot of previews! LOL!
My niece is having a birthday party this weekend, so I thought it would be smart of me to once again have my card pull double duty and make it for her AND my Verve project for this hop. Today's featured stamp set is called Treasured Words and it comes with a perfect variety of sentiments in my favorite new font combination of Julee's, along with some cute doodles that coordinate, such as that sweet birthday hat. The stitched rectangle stamp coordinates with the Rounded Rectangle die and could be used for the sentiment to hang out in, but I chose to make mine be little "patches" coming up from the focal point. (I used an old VLV sketch from May, in case it looks familiar!)
Here's a closer look at my card. What else new on there do ya'll see? How about that Pennant Banner Trim again (sorry, I just can't help it!) and now another new one, the Flourished Trim die I used to shape the bottom of the orange piece and then cut it again to make the brown border and just glued it on top. That was a fun element and something so unique!
Ok, well I will let ya'll get on with your day now. I've got some other crafty business to take care of (now that we are finally and officially DONE with school clothes shopping!) and my desk is a DISASTER!
SUSIE Q-TIP: I just really like dimension on my cards and projects. If you're saying, "NO...really?", just hushit! I don't think I know how to make a card anymore without using foam boosters. Another way I like to add dimension is to run my finger up underneath certain border trims to make them pop up a bit, like I did here with the Pennant Trim and the Banner Die. It's my favorite.
