July Sketch For You To Try-- {Happy Summer}

Well, it's the first Saturday of the month and ya'll know what that means--A new monthly sketch from Jen's Sketch For You To Try! I'm pleased to tell ya'll also that this month's sponsor is My Favorite Things. As a design team alumni from MFT, I was tickled to use some of my stash (which reminded me that I need to post more of my MFT cards that I've made for Scrapper's Boutique on my blog here--I have quite the pile going! Remind me later to do that.)

Here's a look at the new JULY sketch:

And here's a closer look at my card:

I used an older set I already had (my order hadn't come in yet when I made this--I was ahead of the game--who'da thunk?) called PI and the Pinwheel. Isn't she cute!? She's really holding a pinwheel which is part of her stamped image, but I made a real one instead. put it where the stamped one would have been, and backed it with a sparkly silver star from some American Crafts POW paper (I LOVE THAT STUFF!). I used my Copic blender on her shorts to add those faded lines when they wrinkle, plus a few highlights here and there. Since it is also a sample for Scrapper's, I kept it pretty simple, although every time I look at it, I think it is crying out for some sewing around the edges and maybe up the middle of the pleated navy strip! What do ya'll think?

Ok, I KNOW ya'll want to see more inspiration from all of my SFYTT sisters, including our sweet new Guest Designer (that I picked out myself!), Holly Flores--learn more about her and how to play along in our fabulous sketch challenge on Jen's blog HERE. So here ya'll go:
