July Diva Inspiration Hop From Verve

Well, I'm back today! Can ya'll believe it?! And there will be more tomorrow! It feels great to be getting back into my crafting groove. Today's groove is brought to you by the July Diva Inspiration Hop from Verve.

The Verve Divas are here to inspire you with a little Verve! You can start the Hop at the Verve blog. Continue through and comment on each fabulous blog and leave a little comment love and you just might WIN some Vervey goodness of your very own! If you got here from SONY'S BLOG, you are in the right place.

For my card, I used this fabulous sketch from this week's Viva La Verve Challenge. It's super layer-y (or it was for me anyway, ya'll can do whatever you want!) and the colors are not my usual BOLD, but I really wanted to use this Nostalgia paper from My Mind's Eye.

I decided this sentiment from the Blue Skies set (one of my very favorite as it spoke volumes to me when Eric was sick!) would look cute paired with the little bunny from Hoppy Easter, and the Sweet Scallop Tag stamp and Die as I pictured him as a little Fred Astaire, suave and the ever debonair dancer that he was. I definitely captured a 30's and 40's feel with this "number"!

Ok, we hope ya'll are enjoying this Diva Inspirataion Hop for this month! I always love this time of the month!! Next on the hop is my BEAUTIFUL friend, AMBER!!

SUSIE Q-TIP: I love the details of making a "Verve" card. On this one, my favorite thing is stamping onto patterned paper. Be sure to pick a subtle pattern that will let your stamping show through. I also recommend it being a symmetrical paper, so that it's not too busy looking.

Stamps: Hoppy Easter, Sweet Scallop Tag, Blue Skies (Verve)
Paper: Ocean Tides, Vintage Cream, Kraft, Smokey Shadow (PTI), Nostalgia (My Mind's Eye)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Walnut Stain Distress Ink (Ranger)
Accessories: Sweet Scallop Die, I Heart U Die (Verve), Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Seeing Spots Embossing Folder, Corner Rounder, Sewing Machine/Thread, Copic Markers, Black Fine-tip Pen (Prisma), Adhesive Pearl Flatbacks (Michael's/Pizzazz Aplenty), Crochet Ribbon, Button, Linen Thread (TCP), Jody Boosters
