TCPTUES 212--Take it Easy
Well, I know it's Saturday, but with everything else that went on this week, I wasn't able to post this TCP Tuesday card I made a few days ago for The Cat's Pajamas until today. Julie is our Hostess with the Mostess and she has a super cool technique challenge for us to consider...Paper PLEATING! Now, before ya'll get all discombobulated (or as Lindsie tells me in the car all the time, "calm down, Mommy!") about how to do such a thing, my fellow Cat Packer, Amy Rohl did a step by step tutorial on SCS last year that ya'll can find HERE that is super easy to follow along with.
Anyway, I decided to make the paper pleating on my card using the Grass Border CutUps Die and came up with a little breezy scene with several more CutUps Dies--Flower Buttons, Cloud Border, and Pennants. The sentiment is from Joyride (I really want to use that whole set soon--I forgot how much fun it is!), the poles for the little banner are from Gimme Some Sugar, and the cute little bee is from the Honey Bear set. Did I miss anything? That was a lot of TCP goodness right there!
Ok, well no taking it easy for me today. I have to go get some stuff done, including going to the grocery store. I hate that.
SUSIE Q-TIP: As ya'll can see, I stamped the bee directly onto the Kraft paper. But I still wanted his little eyes white, so I used my white Inksentials gel pen (from Ranger--it's the BEST one!) and just colored in the entire eye, covering the black pupils. Then I went back over it after it had dried with a black fine tip pen and remade the pupils. I basically dotted his eyes.
