June Sketch For You To Try --Happy Father's Day

Well, sorry to have been so out of pocket this week and didn't blog hardly at all. I didn't really get much crafting done, other than work on a new kit project for Scrapper's Boutique (that will debut next Saturday during our "Sugar Show"). It's going to be awesome! Last night was a surprise party for Cherie (the owner) with her family and I was invited...we had a BLAST! I mentioned on my Facebook that I was trying my hand at a "refashion". I wore my updated dress last night (show ya'll later), curled my hair, wore heels and then went on a "mini" date with Eric after the party for dessert. Um, I must be getting old, because by 11 pm, we were both pooped and decided to go home!

Anyway, I ran out of time yesterday, but woke up extra early to make this card for Jen's June Sketch For You To Try just this morning (which reminds me--it's time for me to start trolling for a Guest Designer. Do YOU have your card uploaded?) I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, given it only took me 30 minutes!

As ya'll will remember, Lil' Inker Designs is our sponsor this month (LOVE THEM!!), so I grabbed for my Flags & Tags Stamp/Die set from them and whipped this little card out for Eric for Father's Day tomorrow. AND did ya'll notice how "Christmas-y" it looks? I did after the fact. Oh well, ya'll get a little Christmas in June inspiration as well today. It's a two-fer one special. Can't ya'll just see "Merry Christmas" there on the banner and maybe a snowflake or two as the embellies? LOL!! Remind me to remake this one in about 6 months, k?

Ok, I need to go get ready for work with one of my besties, Lynn! I'll try not to be such a stranger...

Oh, I almost forgot--this weekend is the third Saturday of the month, so that means that these girls have more sweet SFYTT inspiration for ya'll to see the sketch in action:

Jodi Collins

SUSIE Q-TIP: I really do prefer to use Scotch Dry Liquid Glue from 3M, but Eric surprised me last week with a new pink ATG gun (a large adhesive roller gun that I call my space ray gun), because it will just be faster to use when making stuff for the store. I used it today, and I must say, it was truly helpful in putting my card together so quick. What are ya'll's thoughts on the ATG gun? I bucked it for a LOOOOONNGGGG time.

  1. Susan, this is a super handsome Father's Day card! I'm sorry to say that it does not remind me of Christmas but of a fun day in the sun!

  2. Love my ATG - in the end, the adhesive is less expensive too!
What a wonderful mix on your card - it does not come across Christmassy :>) I do agree though that this lo would be great for Christmas.

  3. This is so adorable, love your great card design. I could not live without my ATG gun now, lol. I starting using dotto when I first got into card making and as soon as I saw the ATG gun, I bought it, so I would not run out of adhesive for a longgggg time, lol. Love it.

  4. picked your blog from the Moxie Fab Blog Roll and I am so glad it did. I really love your card! I love these colors and all the patterns and textures with your layers. Awesome!

  5. ATG Gun is the best thing! I know it takes a little bit to get used to. I love mine and would never use anything else. Buy your refills through the internet...bulk=discount. I've have my 12 rolls for quite a while.

  6. I'm stunned... you've just now broken down and started using a ATG Gun - Wow!!! I couldn't live without mine. I have two actually one always loaded with thin tape and one loaded with wider tape for more heavy duty projects. Weclome to the ATG club, Susan. You'll never regret the decision!
