Well, it's Spring Break here in Lilesland and what a busy week we have going on! Today and tomorrow, I'll be finishing up Audrie's elementary school yearbook (Thank goodness--that was a chore!). Then Thursday we are going to see The Lorax, and Friday we'll be heading to Frisco to meet up with my oldest daughter, Shelbie for lunch where she works. I can't wait, but I'm going to need lots of coffee to keep me going! So before I get started with working on the yearbook some more, let's do something way more fun and talk about this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge from The Cat's Pajamas.
Jen is our Hipster Hostess with the Mostess and she's bringing on Spring with a fun Inspiration Challenge. Whether you find yourself excited over the colors, the cupcakes, the bowties, the chevrons, or just a springy feel, ya'll are bound to find something with this one to design a fabulous card or project around.
I started my card by falling in love with that debonair dog, Poochie sporting that suave look in the tux with the bowtie in the Make Merry set from The Cat's Pajamas. However, I didn't want to use the martini glass he's leaning against in that particular stamp for my card because of the holly on the glass. So I masked the glass out of the stamped image and took the cake stamp from You Say It's Your Birthday and made Poochie a chipper pup teasing me with the cake. No, it's not a cupcake, but I'm picturing Poochie as George Clooney standing there offering me to make some BIG WISHES if you know what I mean (sentiment from A Girl and Her Cake set), and what a cupcake HE is!!
Ok, this challenge has so many possibilities, that ya'll really have no choice BUT to play along. Just look into Poochie's eyes...don't ya'll see his lustful persuasion? He WANTS YOU to enter for a chance to win some Cat Cash and he DOUBLE-DOG DARES YOU to check out how you could also be the next Swanky Stamper by reading all about it on his master, Alma's blog HERE.
SUSIE Q-TIP: My stamp scrubby thing stays REALLY DIRTY (I need to pop it in the dishwasher like there's no tomorrow), and a lot of times, my stamps come out dirtier after "cleaning" them on my scrubby than when they just had fresh ink on them. So since I was going to be doing some really tricky masking, I needed that stamp to be super clean to see where I was going to be stamping. I found it extra easy to handle by keeping the stamp on the acrylic block while washing it with soap and warm water in the sink. It looked brand new when I was done and at that point all I had to do was take the stamp off the block and continue cleaning the block with some hand sanitizer. My stamp scrubby felt a little left out, but his day in the Cascade is coming.
