Unfortunately, I had to make 2 sympathy cards for a couple of friends I know from Scrapper's Boutique; one for the wife of the man who died and the other was for the sister to the husband. Such a sad story. So this is one of the cards I did for them and I'll show the other one here in a few days. I used a couple of older sets from VERVE--Forever in Our Hearts for the sentiment and the Blessings set for the faintly stamped flourishes behind it on this card. The sentiment panel was cut using the Classy Label Die and the butterflies were cut from the newer All Aflutter butterfly dies that are oh-so-classy as well, even without stamping the actual butterflies it coordinates with from the Twitterpated set (small one) and the All Aflutter Plain Jane (larger one)!
I think that's about all from me today--so happy to be taking it a little easier now that a lot of that drama is over from these past couple of weeks! Friday, I'm looking forward to going with Eric to see his oncologist in Dallas and hearing nothing but GOOD NEWS at his check up. Can I get an AMEN, sisters!!?!?!!
SUSIE Q-TIP: For some reason, when I make a sympathy card, I seem to go pretty clean, with minimal layers and a much quieter personality. Muted colors, pretty prints and solids with a little texture, and little or no fancy embellishments help carry out the solemness needed for such a heartfelt card. Try it. Quietly.

ReplyDeleteoh, what good news for you all about Eric!! LOVE hearing news like that :) And love seeing a gorgeous card from you. I agree with you about sympathy cards...I tend to go a little more CAS and softer with them. So, what happened with the arm pain? I hope y'all are okay :) Hugs!
