Ready for Take-off

Well, I'm sorry I didn't get to post as much as I wanted to for ya'll this week. I've been busy getting ready and counting down the days until TODAY, when Jen and I head to sunny Southern California for CHA! We'll be there Sunday morning through Tuesday evening having an awesome time, I'm sure. In fact, as ya'll read this, we may have already touched down at the scariest airport in the world--John Wayne! I can't wait to catch up and meet in person so many of my crafty friends that live in the computer!

Anyway, what I did have time for was to create this last card to give ya'll a little inspiration while I'm gone for Jen's January Sketch For You To Try. One of my favorite crafty friends that I'll get to see again is Alma. She's the HEAD KITTY over at The Cat's Pajamas, who is also the sponsor for this month's SFYTT.

SO, I pulled out a couple of stamp and CutUps die sets, old and new, to create this little LOVE NEST card! I used the Nesting set along with the coordinating CutUps die (Rolled Nest) for the main theme. The bingo card came from the new set, Build-a-Bingo for a nice backdrop, and the sentiment is from the Nesting set again, combined with the "LOVE" from the Love Letters set. I like the soft colors and the "clean, yet shabby-collage-y" feel to it!

Ok, so I'm taking off (literally) and I'll be back soon to share the good times we had in Cali. For now, please enjoy my previous SFYTT posts for this month HERE and HERE. Then, if ya'll are so inspired, we hope you get to play along (by Jan. 31st)--all the info on what to do is HERE on Jen's blog. Here's a quick look at the sketch:

SUSIE Q-TIP: Instead of sewing around an entire edge of your card, try just using a little sewing here and there to embellish it instead. I totally meant to zig-zag stitch across the top of the coral-ly pink sash and across the entire bottom striped layer, but glued it all together before I remembered that little idea. That's all I have to say about that. Do as I say, not as I do.
