Well, I'm so hoopy and I'll tell ya'll why...I've been keeping a little secret!! A while back, I was contacted by Karen of YOUR NEXT STAMP to be a Guest Designer for October. Of course I said YES!! I'm super excited to be joining the team for this month! Karen is so kind and all the stamps are adorable. I'm going to have to add to my collection vewy vewy soon. AND did ya'll know they now carry dies? YES! Your Next Stamp now has YOUR NEXT DIES...and they are oh so fun! Guess I'll be needing those too.
She actually asked Jen and I both to team up and Guest Design for her this month. We thought it would be fun to do that and be twinkies. "Wondertwin powers--activate!" We make a good team.
I have to admit I have a "stamp-crush" on Fhiona, one of the cutie-patootie girlies from Your Next Stamp. So I couldn't NOT use this little Hula Hoop Fhiona for my Guest Designing Debut! I paired her up with Jen's new October Sketch for You To Try and went for a basic, clean-lined look this time. Audrie (our almost 8 year old on the 17th) thinks Fhiona looks like her, so she told me what colors she wanted me to use and also picked out the paper...I think this will be her birthday card, little does she know! Teehee.
Ok, head on over to the Your Next Stamp Blog HERE for a little more info about me (everything you ever wanted to know and then some), and then be sure to check out Jen's blog HERE to see what she's done today. We'll both be back later this month with some YNS challenges we'll be participating in and also sharing some new release designs. If ya'll want to see some of my past Your Next Stamp creations, HERE you go!
SUSIE Q-TIP: To make hand-drawn grassy footing for some of my stamped images, I just take a few colors of my green Copics (3 here), and starting at the bottom where the "ground" would be, just make a few light swooshes upward with the brush-tip, picking up the pen as you go up. I do this lightly a few times with a lighter color first, then add a litle depth with a couple of darker shades. I like mine to look kind of uneven, and make the blades of grass a little shorter and sticking out on each side where the grass ends. Fhiona may need a lawnmower.
