Well, hello beautifuls!! I am absolutely LOVING getting back into a stamping routine and making CARDS again, rather than everything else under the sun!. Such a feeling of accomplishment and completion. Am I the only one that's weird that way? I'm back AGAIN with another Teaser Time card for My Favorite Things.
I told ya'll this was one spectacular release and that Kim was definitely starting the year off in style, right? Well, this stamp set unquestionably propels this release right off the charts! Are we talking music charts? Maybe...YES! This new set is another stamp set from the "Inspired By" line called Inspired by Music. It features this old Victrola, a romantic violin, some music symbols and a few quotes that all go together in perfect harmony.
The backdrop for my Victrola image is stamped using the wavy bar of music notes several times. I love how that turned out. After doing the other "vintage-y" gift ensemble the other day, I was excited to use this set and give it lots of details with some fun techniques. Edges are sponged with Walnut Stain (Ranger ink) and some are distressed. The Victrola image is heat embossed and is nice and glossy black. Then I got out my Sea Foam Shimmerz spray and used it on the left side of the cream card base and on the MINI Rolled Roses I made from the to-die-for Die-namics die to give the old sheet music a bit of color and shimmer.
There's another NEW Die-namics die on there as well! How about another doily die!? Doilies are a hot commodity right now in the crafting world. This one is called Dainty Lace Doily and has a matching Dainty Lace Border to go along with it (not used today, but I'm sure you'll see it on another MFT sister's blog). Ya'll know I love the matchy-matchy, so I HAD to have BOTH!
Ready for some TOP-SECRET news? Today, there is a prize hidden on one of the designer's blog posts. As you make your way through the Teaser Time posts, simply leave a comment on each blog, for your chance to win one of the Brand Spankin' New stamp sets being released on January 4th. A winner will be chosen from the comments on the pre-selected blog before tomorrow's teaser goes live, and will be posted on Kim's blog HERE. Be sure to check tomorrow to see if YOU are the winner. You can play along each day for your chance to win. We will be giving away NINE new stamp sets this week! As always, you can find the master list of today's participating designers HERE on Kim's blog.
SUSIE Q-TIP: The smaller whitish button on the right side was just a little too "white" for this look. I was lazy and didn't want to hunt down a more cream colored button, so I just smushed it down into my Walnut Stain ink pad and rubbed off the excess with my finger. Instant off-white button. Instant brown finger.
